I am finishing up my second week of grain, sugar and soy free, the energy is unbelievable! This week I started getting up just after seven every morning to workout with my husband for an hour....holy soreness, but this too shall pass and I will be all the better for it.
How do you make a hamburger patty taste good without a bun........how about one with ricotta, green chiles and a sunny side up egg.
Hamburger Sunny Side Up
Ingredients
Organic Grass Fed Beef Patty
1 Tbl. Ricotta Cheese
Fire Roasted Green Chiles
Organic Brown Egg
Garlic Powder
Salt/Pepper
Directions
Season both sides of hamburger patty with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Grill or pan sear to your liking.
In small bowl combine ricotta and green chiles to taste, heat in microwave, just to slightly heat. Mix and set aside until hamburger is finished.
Fry egg to liking, I made ours sunny side up, you could also make them over easy if you wish.
Assemble, hamburger, ricotta mixture, then egg. Enjoy!

Oh my does this look yummy!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally good with that recipe - except for the runny egg bit. ew. I'm grain-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free (or almost, except for very dark chocolate now and then!) Keep up the good work. If only the medical community hadn't been telling us for decades to eat more grains and that fat makes us fat. sigh.
ReplyDeleteSounds good, I have seen in the pubs etc that you can order a burger with a sunny side up egg. andi thewednesdaybaker
ReplyDeletegreat photo Tami, except my egg has to be fried whole, ~smile~ Dh likes his sunny side up.
ReplyDeleteI went off sugar, and low carbs last year and lost 40 lbs, and like you felt so much better......guess what? I went back on sugar during the holidays and 30lbs. came back home. I have been trying to get back on this lifestyle, but it is so hard, good luck, just stay the course!
Blessings,
Sue
This does look so good! I always try to eat my burgers with bread also, but never thought to add some ricotta cheese or an egg to the top. Good for you for the exercising with your hubby. My hubby and I used to do that when our kids were much younger, only we were up at 4:00 in the morning to get it in before they would wake up and he would leave for work. I like your schedule much better. Thank you for sharing with Foodie Friends Friday! Please come back this week with another great recipe!
ReplyDeletenever thought to put ricotta on a burger...will have to try :) thanks for the recipe!
ReplyDeleteHi Tami-- how have I been missing your blog??? Somehow I lost you-- but now I found you again!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see you are doing well-/ trying to be healthy-- aren't we all!! Good for you for sticking to a daily workout-- it's the best I think! I go to Curves everyday-- it keeps me on a path to fitness--
Hugs to you--
Vicki
The best I ever felt was when I totally stopped eating starch. When you give up flour, you essentially give up sugar because just about every flour thing has some sugar. I've always been an exerciser, but I was totally fit when I went about 4 years no starch - only now and then. I so need to get back on that regimen just to feel good.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your regimen.
